Web design for real estate, explained

What should an estate agency website do?

A real estate website should do two jobs: show your listings well, synced from your property CRM, and win new mandates from sellers and landlords by proving local knowledge and marketing quality.

South African property buyers and tenants start on Property24 and Private Property, but sellers and landlords choose an agency on reputation, local knowledge and how it presents their property. An agency website has to support listings and win mandates.

Buyers browse the portals; sellers and landlords research agencies, ask for valuations and compare how each would market their property. Listings synced from your CRM and valuation requests usually matter most.

What customers check

Why does an agency need its own website when the portals exist?

Buyers and tenants will keep searching on the portals, but sellers and landlords choose an agency, not a portal. A real estate website that shows local knowledge, presents listings beautifully and makes requesting a valuation easy is how an agency wins mandates, and mandates are where the business grows.

Your questions, answered

A few good questions.

Have something else in mind?

Let’s talk
How much does a real estate website cost?

Our packages are the same for every industry: Starter R5,000, Business R10,000 and Premium R25,000–R60,000+, all once-off. For estate agencies, developers and rental agents, the Premium Website, because listings come from a CRM feed.

How long does a real estate website take?

A Starter site takes 1–2 weeks, a Business site 1–5 weeks and a Premium site 3–6 weeks, depending on content, approvals and integrations.

Can the website use the listings from our property CRM?

Yes. Most South African property CRMs provide a feed or API. We pull listings from it so your website stays in step with Property24 and Private Property without double capturing.

How do we win more seller mandates through the website?

Sellers choose agents who know their area and present properties well. Suburb guides, recent marketing examples and a fast valuation request routed to the local agent give them reasons to call you rather than the next agency.

Which rules apply to real estate websites in South Africa?

Agents are regulated by the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) under the Property Practitioners Act, must hold valid Fidelity Fund Certificates, and FICA and POPIA apply to client information. We design with these in mind and leave legal sign-off to you and your advisers.
